Check Out What We're Up To

Agriculture Awareness Day

This event, originally scheduled for May 1, 2020 has been cancelled due to Covid-19.  WE ARE LOOKING FOR VOLUNTEERS THAT WOULD LIKE TO MAKE A VIDEO PRESENTATION THAT WE CAN POST ONLINE TO STILL HELP EDUCATE THE PUBLIC.  If you are interested, please call (734) 269-3275 or email [email protected].

BACKGROUND ON AGRICULTURE AWARENESS DAY: This event will consist of students attending hands on learning experience of agriculture, dairy, and natural resources.  Teachers clearly see the value in educating our next generation about agriculture, and support Agriculture Awareness Day and the importance of making the connection between the crop in the field, the processing, and marketing, food travels through to arrive at the grocery store.  This day is indeed an investment in our local education and a true coming together of the community to make this event a success.

Harvest for All

While Michigan's farm families work hard year-round to help produce the world's most abundant supply of affordable, high-quality food, this fact remains: many of their fellow citizens continue to feel the pangs of hunger.

Taking action, Farm Bureau works with the Food Bank Council of Michigan (FBCM) and the Michigan Agricultural Surplus System (MASS) to encourage Farm Bureau members to help fight hunger in Michigan.

Harvest for All is a unique way for Michigan's first harvesters to finish the job by assisting FBCM in providing food to Michigan families in need.

According to FBCM, hunger is a reality for nearly a million Michiganders, young and old, who never imagined they would be dependent on food banks, pantries, shelters and school lunch programs.
